Cancer

With 1 in 3 people being affected by cancer at some point in their life, cancer research has become an important focus of many academic and commercial researchers. These efforts have contributed to great discoveries in the field, saving or extending the lives of many cancer sufferers.

However, as the population is ageing, cancer is becoming an increasing burden on the health-care system, and one of the major ways is by reducing the cost of chronic disease and finding it earlier. Since the genetic make-up of every individual is different, a more personalised and cost-effective approach to cancer diagnostics and treatment is required. Oxford BioDynamics works on addressing these demands and is focusing on developing a technology platform for early diagnostics, patient monitoring, prognosis and companion diagnostics to drug therapies.

OBD is currently producing tests for the following types of cancer:

  • Breast cancer

  • Prostate cancer

  • Malignant melanoma

  • Hepatocellular carcinoma
